Airlines operating from Tenerife’s airports

Who actually operates the flights, who merely sells the tickets, and why Binter appears under three different names.

Who actually flies to Tenerife, and who just sells the ticket?

The timetables for both airports list dozens of airlines, but not all of them actually operate flights. And in Tenerife there is a situation not seen at any other Spanish airport: Binter Canarias hardly ever flies using its own aircraft. Its routes are operated by two subsidiaries, Canair and Naysa, which are listed as separate companies in the timetable. Taken together, they are the island’s largest operator.

A word of honesty, as always: the publicly available information cannot tell us for certain who operates each flight. Ryanair appears on its own in almost all of its operations, so it operates them. Qatar Airways never appears on its own, so it only sells them. But Vueling never appears on its own either — Iberia codeshares all of it — and Vueling clearly does operate. That is why this site always says “airlines with scheduled flights” and not “airlines that operate”.

Companies with their own profile

Those that only sell

They appear in the timetable, but They don’t fly here: they sell seats on another airline’s flights to bolster their long-haul connections. The last two are the opposite — they actually fly, but do not sell tickets under their own name.
