Taxis at Tenerife’s airports
There are taxi ranks at both airports, on the arrivals level, and they operate on a first-come, first-served basis: you simply take the first one in the queue. But there is one important difference that hardly anyone mentions: each airport sits in a different municipality, and the taxi fare is not set by the airport but by the local council.
For the North airport there is a published fare, and here it is in full. For the South, no: Aena does not publish the taxi fare for the South Airport: it is in a different municipality to Tenerife North and refers users to the island’s taxi industry website. That is why there is no price table for the South here — it would be made up.
Always take a taxi from the signposted rank at the terminal and avoid anyone offering the service away from it.

Regulated tariff, approved in accordance with the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 59, dated 24 March 2023. The date matters: this is a rate that is reviewed, and a price without a date becomes outdated without warning.
How is the amount you’ll pay calculated?
The taxi in Tenerife goes by the meter, not at a fixed price. The minimum charge must always be added to the total number of kilometres, as well as the a €2.10 airport supplement, and fare 2 — evenings, Sundays and public holidays — is 15 per cent more expensive per kilometre.
We do not publish a ‘price from the airport to X’ table because it would be made up: the price depends on the actual route, the time of day and traffic conditions. If you need a fixed price in advance, what you’re looking for is a pre-booked transfer, not a taxi.
