What is updated automatically, what is checked manually, and what we do not publish because it cannot be verified.
What is updated, and how often?
A site covering two airports and seven bus routes has plenty of pieces that go out of date. This page exists so you know which ones update themselves, which ones we check by hand and which ones we do not publish at all.
- Flight timetable — it updates automatically, several times a day, for both airports.
- Destinations, routes and airlines — are recalculated over the 14-day period each time the site is refreshed.
- Bus timetables — are calculated using the official TITSA GTFS, published by the Tenerife Island Council. When they publish a new version, the figures here update automatically when the data is refreshed.
- Taxi fares in the North — as laid down and published in: Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 59, dated 24 March 2023.
- Figures for the Northern Airport — ending in the 2025 financial year.
What we don’t publish, and why
And what we do not publish, and why. A site that only shows what it knows and stays quiet about what it does not know is a site you cannot trust:
- Annual figures for the South Airport. Aena publishes a fact sheet with the annual figures for Tenerife North, but not an equivalent one for Tenerife South on a permanent URL. Until such a report is available, passenger figures for the South will not appear here: what is published, however, is the tally of flights, routes and airlines calculated based on the official timetable, which is our own data and verifiable.
- Taxi fares in the south. Aena does not publish the taxi fares for the South Airport: it is in a different municipality to Tenerife North and refers readers to the island’s taxi industry website. That is why there is no fare table for the South here — it would be made up.
- Car park charges. There is no table published on a static page. What we do know.
- Bus fare. It is set by the operator on a section-by-section basis and is subject to change; you can check it on their website or at the bus stop.
- Flight durations. The timetable gives the departure time but not the arrival time at the other airport: calculating it would be pure guesswork.
- Terminal plans and gate numbering. There is no published version that we can reproduce with any certainty.
Frequently Asked Questions
Every few minutes, at each of the two airports separately. The footnote in the table states how long ago the data was updated; if the data is more than six hours old, the table disappears rather than showing you out-of-date information.
They are taken from TITSA’s official GTFS file – the very same file that powers the route finders. They have not been copied out by hand from any leaflet.
